Harboured Sounds

Henry Green

Henry Green says

With my music I like to try and create an alternate space to the one we live in, somewhere a lot slower and more chilled. I treat every song as an escape from the norm and try to create soundscapes that reflect this theme, using effects and electronics.

My time with Harboured Sounds was really enjoyable, they’re a great team and are doing a great thing for Bristol musicians! Henry Green

Henry Green is an 19 year old English singer-songwriter based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. He began writing and recording music at the age of 13, and from the outset possessed an eclectic and open-minded approach to musical styles and genres. His early influences came from 60’s and 70’s artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye. He has developed his own brand of melancholic melodies and lyrics and his own distinctive style is a blend of Indie, Folk and Electronic. His debut single Shipwreck was released in 2012.

When Henry plays live his guitar and vocals are supported by Rufus Pollard on drums and his performance incorporates electronic drum pads, effects pedals and sampling machines.

“This is beautiful new music from a fresh-faced unknown artist” Online Antihero

“His serene melody paired with his celestial voice induces a calming effect” Skeletory

“Henry Green quivers and conveys heavy-handed emotion beautifully and with such simplicity” The Music Ninja

“A new talent worth keeping an eye on” The Line of Best Fit

“Henry is barely out of school, yet his delicate and fragile acoustic outputs make him a songwriter way before his time” Drowned In Sound

“British newcomer Henry Green is the kind of artist who can make a small impact with small means. The small town singer-songwriter’s visceral voice may be gentle in appearance but it can peel off a song as melancholy as his debut single Shipwreck to its darkest soul” Tina Karkinen
